I’m a mother, a cook, a reader, a (novice) gardener. I want to document and share my experiments in cooking real food: food from my garden, food that isn’t frozen, or canned, or packaged, food that didn’t grow in a box or a cage, food that my kids will eat (willingly!), food that doesn’t break the bank or take hours to make.

Can you please start a “what I’m reading” type page? I would LOVE to know what blogs, novels and news you read. Becky shared some of your YouTube videos with me. Hilarious!! Glad you are enjoying summer!

Good to hear from you Britta! As you can tell from my blog address, I am not the most consistent of bloggers, but I am a member of goodreads.com, and I try to keep it updated with books I’m reading. Right now I’m trying to finish Blue Highways, by William Least Heat-Moon. One of the best books I’ve ever read – I think it might make top five if once I’m finished.

Kate, Not only are you an excellent cook, it appears you are a pretty good photographer too! And I like your pie assistants!

How about a recipe say ………. for Barley Salad?
